The Get Active Programme – social sport for everyone! (Continues September 2017)
Get Active is an opportunity for students and staff to enjoy a variety of social sport sessions during the Academic Year.
Organised and run by Team Hud Activators, each session will be tailored to the ability and desires of the participants.
An amazing place to not only enjoy social sport at the university but also a great way to stay active with like-minded people.
At £1.00 per session, there is no excuse not to be active whilst studying. All you need to do is come along to the Team Hud Reception in Student Central, Level 3.
We also provide venue space for sporting events with spectator seating. For more details contact Leanne at email@example.com.

Informal basketball sessions targeted at beginner/improver level in a relaxed atmosphere, with no commitment needed. It is a great chance to practice and improve your skills whilst having fun. Turn up on the day to book

Men’s Futsal is a fun and relaxed way to play football. Our sessions adopt a turn up and play approach which is great for when you want to play without committing to a weekly game, a competitive league or fancy team strips! It’s all about fun casual play! Turn up on the day to book; slots offered on a first come, first served basis.

Our Intramural Leagues are for students and staff who wish to play futsal at a recreational but competitive level with the emphasis on participation and enjoyment. Teams can compromise of students and staff from across campus competing against each other every week to try and win the league. There will be two different leagues which will take place either on Mondays or Fridays.

Friday: 3.00pm – 5.00pm
Two hours of fun filled racket sports activities such as badminton, squash and table tennis. A perfect way to have some fun with friends or a good way to meet new people. It doesn’t matter whether you have played before it is a great way to try something new. Turn up on the day to book

Get Active Running is an organised run that fosters a social group environment, welcoming all abilities to run at a pace that suits you. There's no booking required and it's absolutely free!

Whether it's about rediscovering sport or honing your fitness, O2 Touch is a fun and friendly environment for both men and women of all abilities to get involved in touch rugby. This is social fitness at its best. Turn up on the day to book

The Volleyball Get Active session will introduce you to the game and teach you the basic skills. It is great for first timers and those who want to improve. Volleyball is a popular, enjoyable team sport and a great way to meet new people. Turn up on the day to book.
Girls Who Lift
Thursday: 3.15pm - 4.15pm
Girls Who Lift
This ladies only session allows women of all abilities to learn more about strength training and combat any myths. These sessions are designed to promote confidence in the gym, especially in the free weight area. Instructors will focus on the fundamentals of compound exercises involving barbells and dumbbells as well as learning the correct form of exercises.
Monday: 5.30pm - 6.15pm
Gymnastics helps to develop and display strength, balance and agility, and can boost self-confidence. Our Get Active sessions include vault, beam and floor, suitable for any ability, even beginners!
Tuesday: 12.30pm - 1.15pm
This session is suitable for all abilities and is a great way to get fit, meet new people and perhaps you’ll find your inner athlete! These instructor lead sessions compromise of running/sprints, hurdles, long jump along with throwing and jumping activities which vary each week
