It will come as no surprise to anyone that knows me that my whole life has been devoted to health and fitness!

I trained professionally as a ballet dancer back in the 1980’s and moved quickly into the Sport and Fitness industry soon after. My career at the University of Huddersfield began in 1996 and I’ve been fortunate enough throughout my time here to be able to integrate my role with teaching group exercise classes, which suits my hyper activity system perfectly. My passion for sport and fitness is insatiable and I feel fortunate to work in such a fantastic environment. The benefit the sport and fitness facilities have had on University students and staff is great to witness and I feel privileged to be a part of this service.

Walking is my new favourite hobby and I like nothing better than being outdoors in the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside. Other than walking I try and maintain a good muscular strength and conditioning routine, trying my best to stem the hands of time!!

Keeping fit has been a part of my life from a young age when I was a gymnast and swimmer. Since leaving school (all those years ago) I have studied and worked in a number of areas of the fitness industry, from teaching swimming to teaching hula hooping!

I started here at the university of huddersfield back in 2006 as a fitness instructor, and have since completed a BA(Hons) in sports promotion and marketing amongst other qualifications.

I studied Podiatry here at The University of Huddersfield, graduated in 2006 and went onto work in the NHS initially.

I worked as a Fitness Instructor whilst studying for my undergraduate degree and always enjoyed being a member of a gym, keeping fit and dancing Latin-American and social ballroom as my main hobby. Whilst studying I joined HUBA, which is Huddersfield University Boarders Association and through this developed a passion for surfing and snowboarding which I still have today.

I changed career and now enjoy operational management and administration duties here at Team Hud and feel very privileged to be part of a fantastic team and organisation.

I have always been interested in sport and fitness. From an early age I began to swim and then moved into playing rugby, football and cricket. Now my training consists of teaching classes, Olympic weightlifting and crossfit style workouts.

Whilst studying here for my degree in Exercise, Physical Activity and Health I started working as a part time Fitness Instructor. My role has then since evolved from full time Instructor to being appointed as an Assistant Manager and also running the University Strength and Conditioning program. In this time I have completed my masters in Strength and Conditioning at St Mary's University which has given me a deeper insight into the effects of training and taught me to be more critical in my way of thinking. On a day to day basis I look after the fitness aspects of the sports centre as well as planning and running S&C sessions.

I studied Exercise, Physical activity and Health here at the University, My role with Team Hud involves organisation and support with sports and leisure Programmes (specifically football and Futsal activities and events), as well as the general day to day running of the sports centre.

Currently studying a MSc in Football coaching and Analysis.

Outside of work I play semi-professional football, and Coach.

Before joining Team Hud I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a Sport Development and Coaching degree. I then worked for Oldham Sport Development coaching children of all ages and abilities in schools, communities and holiday camps.

Besides my delivery of customer service as receptionist, I also enjoy delivering Girls Who Lift, a fitness class that teaches women lifting techniques such as how to squat, deadlift and many more.

I have been heavily involved in sport and fitness for most of my life, both playing and coaching various sports and attending the gym. I have played football since the age of 11 and I continue to play for a Sunday league team.

Ever since a young age sport, health and fitness has been a huge passion of mine. I have always had a love for swimming and  I swam competitively until my mid-teens. Shortly after, I became a lifeguard and a level 2 swimming instructor. As a receptionist at Team Hud, I still remain in a sports environment but have adapted my skills to accommodate the delivery of excellent customer service, membership sales, social media profile management and Girls Who Lift exercise classes.

A vital role of mine is to manage Team Hud's social media profiles. Here I provide and promote information to customers that will encourage engagement, alert people of new and upcoming events, and to welcome and interact with new, returning, and present members.

Aside of my employment here at Team Hud, I enjoy attending the gym, snowboarding, baking and trying new places to eat.

As a graduate of Sport and Physical Activity, I have always had the love for sport and fitness from an early age. I started my fitness career as a Fitness Instructor/ Class Instructor to then becoming a Personal Trainer with successful results. My passion is to inspire people to acquire a healthy lifestyle or maintain one through exercise, nutrition and sport.

I have worked my way up from being a Sports Centre Assistant to a Fitness Instructor where I currently help members reach their desired goals and targets through designing programmes and delivering 1 to 1's. I specialise in muscle building, improving cardio vascular fitness and fat burning. In addition to this, I also deliver Les Mills GRIT, Indoor cycling, Girls Who Lift sessions and assist in the conditioning of the University sports teams.

I have been a personal trainer for 5 years and have a wealth of knowledge to help you in the gym, whether you are looking for weight loss, mass gain, increasing lean muscle I will take great pride in helping each and every one of your goals or at least putting you on the correct path towards achieving them.

I have a passion for group exercise either small groups in the gym or fitness classes in the studios. I specialise in HIIT training, weight loss and shaping and toning. I like to educate my participants on fitness and health so they can create a healthy life style for themselves confidently.

From an early age sport and exercise has been a big part of my life, from playing high level football in my teens to now practising martial arts.

This passion led me to complete my BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Science here at the University of Huddersfield. Since graduating I've worked as a personal trainer and sports performance coach before I was appointed as a fitness instructor here at Team Hud. I now specialise in 1 to 1 and group S&C programme's as well as the Combat Suite and self-defence classes.

Ever since a young age sport and a healthy lifestyle has been instilled in me. I started out playing football, and then converted to playing Rugby Union at High School where I competed in various National level competitions. Then going on to tour South Africa where we competed against the top high schools. This has given me the hard work and dedication needed to help people push towards their fitness and lifestyle goals.

This passion and drive for health and fitness led me to take my Level 3 Personal Training qualification, and have since worked as a personal trainer which guided me to my current position at Team Hud.

I have recently taken an interest in website development and html coding in the hopes to further develop as a future skill.

My two major roles at Team Hud are predominantly health orientated; delivery of the new and reformed Exercise Referr al Scheme and the running of the Health and Fitness MOT's.

Since graduating Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in Sports Development and coaching in 2012, I have delivered extensive referral, fitness instruction, fitness classes, nutrition for weight loss, nutrition for pre/post natal and sports specific training. I have also produced and published online training programmes, nutrition guides, diet plans and blogs.

I am passionate about health, fitness, wellbeing and thrive on the success of clients.

As a Health and Sport studies graduate from the University of Huddersfield, I was appointed as a fitness instructor at the University sports and fitness department in 2007. I love working in the student environment, filled with diverse cultures and a spectrum of ages and abilities.

My role as an instructor is quite diverse, supporting students on the exercise referral scheme to providing additional support to our more mature staff members who are at different stages of life with more specific health and fitness requirements.

I also teach a variety of fitness classes including, Zumba to Step and Tone, Rave and Ride and Lets Bounce. So many opportunities for you to improve your health and fitness in a fun and uplifting environment!!
